Queensland Residents Spread the Christmas Joy

By Andrew Bell

If you are thinking about purchasing real estate in Surfers Paradise, you might be interested to know the city takes part in a state wide initiative to help the less fortunate.

Queenslanders are being encouraged to donate a gift to go to one of the state's 8,600 children and young people living away from home this Christmas.

The Newman government's Kids in Care Christmas Appeal was launched on November 18 by Child Safety Minister Tracy Davis.

"Christmas can be a difficult time for kids in care but one of the best ways to ease their burden is to bring a smile to their faces and it also lets them know that people really do care about them," she said.

The campaign runs until December 13 and shows that Queensland is a great place to live in, with a great community spirit. Residents are urged to think about the plight of the less fortunate, particularly during the Yuletide season.

If you're a resident of Surfers Paradise property and you wish to donate, remember gifts must be appropriate for children up to the age of 17.
