The Gold Coast is famously known as a location for people to take extravagant summer holidays, where the weather is warm and the beaches are inviting all year round. But who says this can only be for vacationing? Buying your own slice of Surfers Paradise property and creating a life for yourself in the region could be a rewarding experience for you and your family.

After all, there are a wide range of opportunities and attractions for you to soak up during your time in the area. Here are some of the major things all residents need to check out in the Surfers Paradise area. 

Cavill Avenue

Located in the heart of Surfers Paradise, Cavill Avenue is a central hub of for shopping, entertainment and culture. Popular with locals and tourists alike, there's something for everyone in the street – which is closed to traffic, making a huge outdoor mall space. 

Live music and arts permeate the street, with something happening at every interval. Buskers and street performers bring the mall alive during the day, while the evening sees nightclubs and arcades open late for after-dark entertainment. 

Furthermore, the surrounding streets are populated by tattoo parlours, food stalls, surfboard stores and a wide range of other shopping options – making the space a veritable smorgasbord of places to spend your time. 

Chevron Renaissance

Another staple of the Surfers Paradise landscape, the Chevron Renaissance Shopping Centre is a great place to spend a day over the weekend enjoying some shopping and soaking up live music. Every Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening, the building comes alive with live music offering a mixture of classic hits, folk tunes and jazzy numbers, which could offer a wonderful evening out with friends or family.

This happens between 6 and 9pm, offering the perfect accompaniment to dinner or simply a few drinks to pass the time while you enjoy the atmosphere. And when coupled with two hours free parking and the wide range of shopping and food options in the space, what more could you be looking for? 

Surfers Paradise Beach

When people think of Surfers Paradise, the first thought conjured is often of the three kilometre stretch of white beach running alongside the city. Surfers Paradise Beach is a great draw card for tourism during the summer months, but offers some wonderful incentives for locals living in the community as well. 

With lifeguards on patrol 365 days of the year, taking up a water sport like swimming or surfing has never been more safe. Furthermore, the local clubs are always looking for more volunteers – offering an opportunity for residents of real estate in Surfers Paradise to give back to the community. 

There are also regular games of beach volleyball for people to enjoy during the long summer days of bliss, while the Surfers Paradise Beachfront Market offers over 100 stalls for people to peruse on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. There's also live music at these markets, providing something for everyone's tastes. 

Amusement parks

Of course, it wouldn't be Surfers Paradise without mention of the multiple amusement parks in the region. Dreamworld has over 40 rides and five roller coasters for your amusement and offers a wide range of variety for rides and locations – including Wiggles World, Tiger Island and Ocean Parade.

Or if water parks are more your speed, Wet 'n' Wild offers a huge number of water slides for your enjoyment. From glow in the dark through to massive group slides, the variety is enormous and could offer an enjoyable day out for families with young and older children alike!
