If you're after a great beach lifestyle that's hard to surpass, then you might want to direct your property search to the Gold Coast and Surfers Paradise.
New information has shown that the Gold Coast lifestyle is so sought after that many people are opting to commute for long periods of time from their Surfers Paradise property.
According to a study from Bernard Salt at KPMG, around 26,000 residents of real estate in Surfers Paradise and the surrounding Gold Coast area commute to Brisbane daily for work.
"Whatever it is that the Gold Coast has to offer must be pretty good because extreme commuters are growing faster in this city than in any of the ten largest cities in Australia," said Mr Salt.
Furthermore, the Gold Coast is also home to a number of fly-in-fly-out (FIFO) workers.
These workers choose to live in the Gold Coast and fly to their jobs in the mining industry every day.
The study's findings have been welcomed by Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate, who stated that it shows "Gold Coasters are completely devoted to their city".
"I've presumed all along – and Bernard Salt's study provides concrete evidence of this – that while many Gold Coasters are prepared to commute long distances for work, they'’re convinced the Gold Coast is the best place to live," he said.
