There is no question the Commonwealth Games has already transformed the Gold Coast. It has singlehandedly injected billions of dollars of investment to raise our city to one of the most progressive in the country, and of course, we are all excited to see what lays ahead especially leading up to the Games themselves in April 2018.
Today I have with us the Honourable Peter Beattie, Chairman of GOLDOC, the organising committee of the Commonwealth Games and, as most people would know, an ex-Premier of our state.
