Welcome to the neighbourhood, Nathan Peats

By Andrew Bell

Gold Coast fans rejoice! Rugby league star Nathan Peats has just signed to continue his contract with the Titans for the next three years. But that’s not the only contract he’s signed recently…

Nathan Peats in the neighbourhood

Now that Peats is going to be sticking around for a couple of years, he needs a place to live, doesn’t he? The hooker recently secured a million dollar mansion in Palm Beach, beating out eight other bidders and making it the highest bid at auction on July 16, reported the Gold Coast Bulletin. Hopefully this is one of many wins to come for the Titans.

Located on the northern avenues at Palm Beach, it’s no wonder why this property was so attractive to Peats. The Palm Beach suburb continues to grow in popularity, so there’s potential for you to find a successful auction as well. Here’s hoping Peats is as good a neighbour as he is a teammate!

Auctions in the Gold Coast on the rise

Nathan Peats isn’t the only one who can snap up an amazing property in the Gold Coast region, you can too! According to CoreLogic data, auction clearance rates are high at 31.8 per cent. That’s 22 successful auctions so far this year. In general, this market has been performing well. At the end of the summer, CoreLogic’s data showed that clearance rates were as high as 44.4 per cent, that’s 61 auctions, which made it the busiest non-captial city region in the country at the time!

What does this mean for you?

This means that you have ample opportunity to win your own auction in the Gold Coast real estate scene. The upcoming Commonwealth Games play a big part in the development of this industry as developers rush to create new housing for the inevitable influx of residents and visitors. In fact, the Gold Coast Bulletin expects the Gold Coast area to add about 351,000 new residents in the next couple of years.

As a result, developers like Walker Corporation Queensland are building residential housing districts. Walker Corporation’s project will cost $1.2 billion and house 3,700 residents. One of those spots could be yours! And, with the Commonwealth Games coming up soon, who knows, you might end up with a couple more famous neighbours as well.
