Those living in Surfers Paradise property will have the opportunity to celebrate the cultural diversity of Queensland's community at the end of the month.
The inaugural Queensland Multicultural Week begins on Saturday August 31 and runs until Sunday September 8 and encourages locals to embrace the broad mix of cultures and ethnicities that make up the region.
"Queensland is a culturally diverse state, and is becoming more so year by year," said Glen Elmes, minister for Aboriginal Affairs and Torres Strait Islander and Multicultural Affairs, in an August 22 media statement.
"Queensland Multicultural Week is about bringing together Queenslanders from all backgrounds in a shared acknowledgement of our heritage and traditions – as well as celebrating the aspirations and values that bind us together as one community."
There will be an eclectic range of events, performances and festivals held across the state over the week, offering something for all ages.
Why not check out the Taiwanese Festival at Calamvale, or head over to Tingalpa for some sports action at the football tournament?
The Gold Coast Multicultural Festival on September 8 could be the perfect way to cap off the week for those with real estate in Surfers Paradise.
Held in nearby Bundall, it features performances and activities that showcase the breathtaking diversity of the Gold Coast community.
