Make use of Gold Coast cycle lanes this month

By Andrew Bell

One of the best parts about living in rentals in Surfers Paradise is being able to get around the area easily.

Apart from the many bus networks that weave throughout the area, you'll also find Surfers Paradise and the Gold Coast region are home to cycle routes. Whether you're a green-living fanatic at heart or you want to get fit, these cycle routes are great for anyone who wants to opt for a fun and sustainable commute to work.

Along Main Beach, you'll find both on- and off-road bikeways that go along The Esplanade and also up through to Southport. Riding these tracks means you can soak up the view of the stunning beach on your commute before heading off to work for the day.

Being safe on your bike

Whether you're out to get exercise or travelling to work, you'll need to be safe on your bike. Make sure you're highly visible on the roads, especially if you're travelling at night. Ensure your bike is regularly serviced and well maintained, and find a helmet that fits you appropriately.

Remember that although you're on a bike, you'll still need to adhere to traffic and road rules like any other road user. This means using bicycle lanes when they're provided, adhering to give-way rules and obeying traffic signals.
