Great Deals to Be Found in Surfers Paradise

Those on the hunt for a great deal on real estate in Surfers Paradise may be interested to hear that certain high-end suburbs in Queensland are still presenting many affordable options for home buyers in the market.

According to information from the Real Estate Institute of Queensland (REIQ), there are still many "hidden treasures in prestigious suburbs across Queensland" to be found.

"In all major regions, over the past 12 months, there have been relatively affordable house sales in suburbs which are classified as some of the most desirable to live," said REIQ chief executive Anton Kardash in a July 3 statement.

"Of course, the old adage of buying the worst house in the best street, or the best suburb, still applies but buying wisely in these prestigious locations will help to underpin capital growth, perhaps together with some sweat equity over time."

The REIQ data showed that despite a median house price of over $1 million in the Gold Coast, there are still many affordable properties to be found in the market. For example, one Surfers Paradise property sold for $454,000 in December last year, which is well below the median house price in the general area.
