The Gold Coast Airport Marathon is a great way to meet new people in Surfers Paradise and burn some calories while you're at it.
Held 5-6 July, the annual race will take runners through the Gold Coast's beautiful scenery. You'll get the best possible view of your new home, and might even find a shortcut you didn't previously know existed.
Not only will you get to know the area, but you'll also get to know the people in your community. Start training with some other people who hope to complete the marathon – you'll get the support you need during particularly hard training sessions and also create bonds that could last a lifetime.
Don't be intimidated by the 42km length – remember, this is a "fun run" so it's all about enjoying yourself and making the most of the experience. And all that exercise will be quite the stress reliever after searching for real estate in Surfers Paradise!
